The Austin Music Foundation is a non-profit organization offering programs and services dedicated to the education, development and advancement of musicians, the creation and preservation of Austin's musical heritage, and the development of a united and sustainable local music community. They offer regular Music Industry Boot Camps (which are free of charge) featuring a panel of music industry professionals, both Austin-based and from around the country, who speak and take questions on a variety of topics related to the business side of the music industry. Their Austin Music Incubator awards three artists per year acceptance into the 18-month program which provides a budget of up to $15,000 to spend on services dedicated to their musical career goals.

The Austin Songwriters Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and developing aspiring songwriters. They also provide opportunities for working with publishers, A & R reps and other music industry professionals. They offer several songwriting seminars throughout the year, as well as monthly critique sessions where members are invited to share their works in progress.

But don't think it over for too long... submission deadline is months before the March festival.
